Volunteer Learning Program (Computer Workshop)

What is the Digital Inclusion Volunteer Learning Program?

The Digital Inclusion Volunteer Learning Program offers volunteers the chance to help us refurbish donated computers while learning practical computer maintenance skills, including:

  • Diagnosis
  • Hardware replacement
  • Software installation and updates
  • Refurbishing laptops, desktops, and iMacs

By donating your time and energy, you will have the chance to learn new skills in a friendly working environment, while helping Digital Inclusion support people in Luxembourg who cannot afford a computer.

How does it work?

We use a mix of classes and hands-on practical learning in our workshop. Our aim is for our volunteer learners to develop practical skills in a friendly working environment, all while building their confidence and practicing their languages.

The program is open to adults, and to minors aged 16-17 with written permission from their parent or legal guardian. Click here for our Children at Digital Inclusion Policy and Permission Form (PDF).

No prior IT knowledge is needed. The program is supervised by our IT Technicians and more advanced volunteers also teach beginners. You decide how often you want to attend classes and the workshop. Once a volunteer completes all the learning modules, we will issue a certificate to them that lists all the skills they have acquired.

How do I join?

We hold Beginners information sessions on Mondays from 14:00 – 15:00 for new volunteers.

The planned dates of Beginners information sessions for 2024 are:

8 January, 5 February, 4 March, 8 April, 6 May, 3 June, 1 July

5 August, 2 September, 7 October, 4 November, 2 December

If you are interested, please send an email to registration@digital-inclusion.lu with your name and CNS/matricule number and we will consider your application. If your application is accepted, we will invite you to the next available Beginners information session.
